You have ghost units that are nigh invulnerable to standard weapons but melt instantly to anything magic. You have amazing war machines that leech enemy life away en mass or buff/debuff everything. Everyone can heal and dead units come back again. Your lords can drop blobs of zombies on anyone at any time (this is like a better version of net of amyntok!). And god forbid you face fire enemiesĪlongside this you have as many nifty tricks to play with as anyone. Oh, and all of your units crumble to dust when their low leadership runs out. Your very slow units soak up a lot of damage and blob and thats about it. Your very fast units are either very squishy or very expensive. To explain as simply as possible: you have two types of units: very fast and very slow. You have to be active, identify targets and take them out or you will lose badly, but also have to work harder to do that. I think what makes it fun is the strategy is a bit more complex than sitting back and shooting things. I felt the same way then just got sucked into a Vlad campaign and now it might be my favourite.
